SEPt 19th - At his final show of the season in hand, Llanalyn Magic again won his class and this time went on to take the Overall Championship. His connections tell us he just keeps getting better and better! This takes his tally for the year to 3 wins, 2 Reserve Champs and 1 Overall Championship from 3 shows. What a result ! It is hoped Magic will now continue his show career under saddle and we wish his connections every success for the future with this lovely boy.

AUGUST 15th - Llanrwst Show and it just poured with rain all day! Everyone got a thoroughly good soaking. We couldn't help but feel for the Judge who had to withstand the torrent for most of the morning but remained in good humour throughout it all. Mist was well and truly fed up and showed it, but Darcy just loved it. He gave a fantastic show and was much admired by the Judge who gave him 3rd in a strong class of foals. We have decided to end on a good note and Mist and Darcy are now going to be turned away to enjoy what's left of the rest of the summer. Our grateful thanks again to Carron Pygott, without whose help none of this would have been possible.
August 12th - Anglesey Show and a grey, wet and dismal start but luckily the weather cleared a little after we arrived and stayed relatively dry for the rest of the day. Mist was thoroughly out of sorts all day - she must have known that she was not the judges type. Never mind, it happens to the best as they say. Darcy did what Darcy does and strutted his stuff in style.
AUGUST 8th - Eglwysbach Show day and the weather is fine! Carron Pygott again kindly offered to help Ali to show Mist and her foal. Mist went beautifully again for Carron and was placed 4th. It isn't often you can feel pleased to be placed 4th, but this was one of those rare occasions. 1st place went to Eifion Williams (Bethel Jill), 2nd place to Wyn Jones (Nerwyn Letitia), 3rd place to John Jones, Nantdywyll (Colgele Ffiona) and 4th to Llanalyn Mist. We were immensely proud to be 4th to these 3 renowned North Wales breeders. Mist's foal, Llanalyn Mr Darcy, enjoyed his day out again. He really strutted his stuff and was given 5th for his efforts!
july 12th - Gredington (officially NCPA Maelor) Show - and an early start! We arrived at the showground at 8.30 am, a bit of a feat for us but well worth it for what turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable day. Bob Parry very kindly volunteered to help Ali with the mare and foal and once again Mist went beautifully. She was placed 2nd and her foal 3rd. Over in the ridden rings Llanalyn Awstin and jockey Jessie won the Brineton M&M First Ridden class, qualifying for the 2nd year running for P.U.K. They also came 3rd in the B.S.P.S. Heritage M&M Open First Ridden which was won by Heniarth Cupcake (produced by Julie Templeton). We have two relations of Cupcake's at Llanalyn, all going back to the late Mr Shem Jones' beautiful mare Bwlch-y-Gwynt Ceri (see her photo on the Mares page).
JULY 4th - At long last we made it to a show ! Thanks to the offer of help from Steve & Carron Pygott (Brohelegan Stud) we brought Mist and her foal in from the field and set off for North Wales Show at Caernarfon. As luck would have it, after the long heatwave the weather broke and although it was nice when we left home, by the time we reached Caernarfon it was wet and miserable, but the weather improved in time for the brood mare class and the sun came out to welcome Mist back into the showring after a 6 year break. Carron showed her beautifully and although they had never met before Mist went like a dream for her and was pulled in 3rd. Ali showed her foal, Llanalyn Mr Darcy, and at just 6 weeks old he went like an old pro ! Nothing phased him and he he was perfectly happy to trot out and show off his paces whenever he was asked and was awarded 4th for effort ! It was lovely to be back out at a show and meet up with pony friends we hadn't seen for a while - thanks again Carron for making it possible.
june 27th - Congratulations to Llanalyn Awstin and his two jockeys Jade & Jessie for winning the Lead Rein and First Ridden classes at Ynys Mon Show.
may 21st - Llanalyn Mist (Kinmel Mikado x Llanalyn Misty Morning) foaled a dark, almost black colt foal this afternoon by Polaris Lionheart. He is a lovely looking foal, very strong and lively, with a broad white blaze and four white legs. We are looking forward to watching his progress.
MAY 16th - News in from Anglesey. Llanalyn Awstin and Jessie have been out competing again - this time at a Pony Club Show on Anglesey Showground. They came second in their flat class and had a clear round in the WHP class. They are obviously starting to form a great partnership and having lots of fun.
APRIL 29th - Llanalyn Daisy May decided to join her mum and has successfully delivered her first foal a few days early - a colt. He is a smashing little chap with attitude to spare. So now we are even stevens !
APRIL 28th - Polaris Dinah (Polaris Royal Flush x Twyford Diamond) has foaled a chestnut filly (may possibly go grey !!) by Llanalyn Alaw - whoopee !! She is a very good looking young lady, already full of personality. She is line bred to Coed Coch Planed and is a half sister to Daisy May.
April 11th - Llanalyn Awstin (Llanalyn Alaw x Lacy Almon) wins the Open Ridden Section A class at Clwyd Stallion & Youngstock Show. He is produced for the showring by Georgina Lomas at Cromlech Manor, Anglesey. This was his first outing with new jockey Jessie, who is just 8 years old. Well done everyone !

News from the Bridges family in Suffolk to let us know how Almera is getting on. She has settled in to her new home really well and has produced a lovely upstanding colt by Polaris Lionheart. They are hoping to show him and we look forward to hearing about his progress. Almera is a full sister to Llanalyn Awstin.

Lovely news in from Mike & Lynn Howard, owners of the 4 year old gelding, Llanalyn Mystery. He has been 'put to' and is thoroughly enjoying his new career in harness. Mike says he is just the loveliest little pony and a "real little star". Mike is best known as an HDT driver, winning the HDT Novice Horse Championship at Windsor with his Dutch Gelderlander, Salbrino II. Mystery played an important part in this success as he is Salbrino's "official companion" - a role he takes very seriously!! We wish Mike & Lynn every success for the future - and a great deal of fun and enjoyment with Mystery.

Daisy May has been let out to play again! We had a lovely time at Gredington Park at NCPA Maelor's 40th Anniversary Show where Daisy was placed 2nd in the yearling filly class.

Well we're off!! After a year at home we have finally managed to make it back into the showring and our yearling filly, Daisy May, has done us proud. At Lloc Welsh Medal Show, her very first outing, she came a very creditable fourth of twelve, giving a foot perfect and mannerly display in a howling gale and two fields away from Autograss racing!! (Who picked that show!!). She had her second outing at Flint & Denbigh RC Welsh Medal Show where she won her class in style. As you can see, she is a filly of scope and quality, bred to perform, and a great tribute to the knowledge and foresight of the late Countess of Dysart.
Llanalyn Aled ("Max")
Congratulations to Hannah Thomas & "Max" on their many successes in 2005 - wins include show jumping, showing, hunter trials, WHP and a bit of dressage too!!
Llanalyn Little Gem
Little Gem has inherited her sire’s
temperament and has been well named! She is full of character and a
pleasure to own. She has not been shown extensively, but won her
first championship as a yearling and was in the first three at every
show as a 2 year old.
